Dr. Sarah InmanVeterinarian & Owner
Dr. Inman was born in Johannesburg, South Africa and raised in Melbourne, Australia. She completed her undergraduate degree in Genetics and Biochemistry in Melbourne before attending veterinary school at the University of Sydney. She relocated to San Francisco with her husband in 2016 and worked as an Associate Veterinarian at Avenue's Pet Hospital in the Sunset before founding The Castro Animal Hospital. Dr. Inman’s particular areas of interest are surgery and diagnostic imaging as well as being an advocate for animal welfare. Outside of work Dr. Inman loves spending her time in the great outdoors whether it be hiking, mountain biking or skiing.
Dr. Tais PerpetuoAssociate Veterinarian
Dr. Tais Perpetuo has been practicing veterinary medicine in the Bay Area since 2009. A Native of Brazil, she grew up in a small town near São Paulo City & has had many cats, dogs, a tortoise & chickens, not to mention the street animals her family was always feeding. Following her passion for animals, she graduated from State University of Londrina, College of Veterinary Medicine, going on to practice in São Paulo City for 2 years. After that, she immigrated to the USA, studied English & worked as a veterinary technician for 5 years before pursuing her dream of practicing in the USA. Dr. Tais completed her clinical training at Kansas State University & validated for her diploma in the USA through the ECFVG program offered by the American Veterinary Medical Association.
In her spare time, Dr. Tais loves being with her 2 kids, her husband & her cat Smokey. They live in San Francisco & enjoy outdoor activities such as biking, & going to the beach or mountains. She is also passionate about several forms of dance.
Dr. Jennifer LiangAssociate Veterinarian
Dr. Jennifer Liang grew up in the Bay Area & spent her undergraduate years in Santa Cruz & Davis. After graduating from Western University, she completed a rotating Small Animal internship in Irvine, before moving back to the Bay Area to be closer to her family.
Dr. Liang's passion for veterinary medicine evolved from caring for a plethora of pets growing up & her main areas of interest include soft tissue and orthopedic surgery, chronic pain management, and alternative therapies
In addition to spending time with her family, outside of the hospital Dr. Liang likes to play tourist in her hometown of San Francisco, trying new restaurants, checking out local events, and doing a little urban hiking. On less adventurous days she experiments with new recipes in the kitchen.
Dr. Philip BossePart-Time Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Philip Bosse is our Part-Time Associate, seeing patients on Tuesdays & Wednesdays each week. He was born & raised in eastern North Carolina where he attended North Carolina State University completing a bachelor's in Animal Science in 2004 before attending veterinary college at the same university, graduating in 2008. After veterinary school he completed a rotating small animal internship in Connecticut with a focus on emergency work as well as working with specialists in various fields. A need to explore brought Philip out to California, but the excellent weather and good people have made it his home. Passions outside of work include many outdoors activities, including beach volleyball, mountain biking & surfing
Dr. Puneet (Penny) SidhuAssociate Veterinarian
Dr. Sidhu is an East-Bay native, hailing from the town of Danville. She completed her undergraduate degrees in Biology and French at UC Irvine followed by a masters in Animal Biology at UC Davis. She went on to attend veterinary school at UC Davis and is excited to be back in the Bay Area as part of the Castro Animal Hospital Team! Dr. Sidhu is passionate about nutrition, pain management, dermatology, internal medicine, and all things cat.
In her spare time Dr. Sidhu loves being with her cat Waldo and her dogs Oscar and Zelda. She enjoys cooking elaborate meals, music, backpacking, and spending time with her loved ones near and far.
Jason WakeHospital Manager
Jason is a Bay Area native & has been a San Francisco resident for over 13 years, living in the city with his husband, two Yorkies & two cats. He has 17 years of experience in the veterinary field working as a veterinary assistant & spending the last four years in the role of Hospital Lead Technician. Jason is currently completing his Certification in Veterinary Practice Management.
Ashley BrechLead Veterinary Assistant
Ashley is a new resident to San Francisco & lives with her dog & two cats. She has worked in the veterinary industry for over 6 years & her main areas of interest are surgery & client education. Ashley attended Carrington Technical College for Veterinary Medicine where she trained to become a Registered Veterinary Technician, a qualification she will be taking later this year. In her free time Ashley enjoys spending days on the beach with her dog & exploring the city
Karen HuVeterinary Assistant
Karen is a San Francisco Native & lives in the city with her two dogs Emi & Cookie. Karen studied Zoology at San Francisco State University before starting her training as a Registered Veterinary Technician at Penn Foster College.
Turea ArmalyRegistered Veterinary Technician
Turea was born & raised in Sonoma County & currently commutes from Santa Rosa where she lives with her family & 6 year old cat Franklin. She has worked in the veterinary field for 6 years, obtaining her RVT license in 2018.
In her free time Turea likes to do anything to do with the outdoors & her ultimate passion is to one day work with big cats.
Sara ColbyVeterinary Assistant & Client Service Representative
Sara has worked in customer service in the veterinary industry for many years, recently transitioning across to our animal care team in 2019 as a Veterinary Assistant. Sara is a San Francisco Native & lives in the city with her two dogs Bowie & Monty
Emilee De SotoVeterinary Assistant
Emilee is originally from Louisiana & has worked as a Veterinary Assistant for 7 years. Emilee's passion lies in animal behavior & she is a 'Fear Free' trained handler. Outside of work Emilee is an avid fan of K-Pop music
Kenny PondsClient Service Representative
Kenny was born & raised in San Francisco & currently lives in Oakland. He has worked in the veterinary industry for over 10 years & loves having a job that allows him to work with both people & animals. In his free time Kenny takes an active role in his Church community.
Cassandra DavilaVeterinary Assistant
Cassandra is originally from Nicaragua where she completed her veterinary studies. She has over 5 years of experience in the veterinary field, the last 2 years being in San Francisco. In her down time Cassandra loves to go jogging
Ariel HickmanClient Service Representative
Ariel has worked in the veterinary field for 5 years, but has loved animals all her life. Her first job aspiration in kindergarten was to be a dog trainer, and she became a vegetarian at age 12. She adopted her senior pug, Mickey, from Muttville 3 years ago, and they have been inseparable ever since. In her free time, Ariel likes museum hopping, live shows, and traveling.
Veronica GarciaVeterinary Assistant
Veronica is an Oakland native & has worked in the veterinary field for 13 years. She spends her free time watching movies or baseball games with her 14 year old son & is a supporter of the Oakland A's. She also has an 'out-of-control' 4 year old chihuahua called Rocky Balboa
Sarah MoralesClient Service Representative
Sara was born and raised in the Bay Area. Growing up she never owned pets until volunteering at an animal shelter one summer, Fast forward 11 years later- Sara graduated with a degree in animal science, has been active in the veterinary field for over 10 years and has worked in day practice, emergency and specialty medicine. Sara is also the proud mom to 3 rescue pups named Bolt, Dubs and Koda, & two cats Thomas and Sebastian. Sara enjoys seeing pets grow, get healthy and go home with their families & is a huge Starbucks fan, surviving the fur, barks and licks with a grande mocha before every shift. Her dogs also enjoy puppuccinos on her days off.
Raquel RamosVeterinary Assistant
Raquel is a bay area native who has worked in the veterinary field since 2010. She has experience in emergency, exotic, internal, general, and dermatological veterinary medicine. Her main interests are in clinical laboratory medicine. She holds her California Phlebotomy license, and is working towards a degree in Clinical Sciences from SFSU. She has a rambunctious one-eared Pug named Mako & an orange Tabby named Oli.
